Make sure every issue of your ezine, and any other communications with your subscribers, contain clear and simple unsubscribe instructions. And make sure they're really easy to find - right at the top or at the very bottom is best.
People that can't figure out how to get off your list can cause you a LOT of unnecessary headaches.
For a start, you're going to waste valuable time manually unsubscribing people on a regular basis. However, that will be the least of your problems with some particularly disgruntled subscribers.
If your lucky, they'll only send you an abusive "flame" email. But they may also make negative remarks about you privately or - worse - publicly in a forum, and tarnish your reputation. And if luck isn't on your side that day, they'll report you for allegedy spamming them.
The fact that they subscribed and you didn't spam them is often immaterial. You'll now have to go through the hassle of proving your case with your ISP, to make sure they don't shut you down. Some ISP's will even close your account on the basis of a single, unproven accusation - irrespective of your side of the story. Prevention is better than cure.
And if you host your list yourself, make sure you keep every subscription request. If someone accuses you of spamming them, forwarding their original request to receive your ezine is your best defence. Without it, you'll find it tough to prove your innocence, and contrary to normal forms of justice, most ISP's consider those accused of spamming "guilty until proven innocent." Be warned!
